Henna for Hair

Usually Mehendi is not only good for hands its also good for hair, used as body tattooing & hair color. Mehendi is called as heat removing agent, by adding some more ingredients to Mehendi it has become Henna. Here Henna is used for Hair treatment; it works as conditioner, for roots tightening, hair coloring and covering white hair. Henna pack we will get in stores also, but we can do this at home all we need is

1. Natural Mehndi powder – 250 grms
2. Goose Berry( Amla powder) – 2 spoons (optional)
3. Shikakai powder – 2 spoons (optional)
4. Soap Berry (Kunkudukai powder) – 2 spoons (optional)
Note :- Optional things are optional,but if they are there its most effective.

Take some tea/coffee decoction in copper bowl, mix all the above powders in that and rest it for 12 hours then mix some curd or egg (as you need) and apply to head. If you want to use it as conditioner then keep it for 2 hour, else for color means 4-6 hours and then take bath with out shampoo and next day you can do with shampoo again.

TIPS TO GETRID FROM DANDRUFF

1. some fermented curd (ferment curd by keeping it aside for 2-3 days, do not freeze) and apply this curd to the scalp and hair. Keep it for about an hour and wash it off with shampoo. Curd not only is a very good dandruff treatment but is also the natural conditioner that makes hair shiny.


2. Mix two tablespoons of vinegar with six tablespoons of hot water and apply it all over the scalp. If you have long hair, increase the amount accordingly. Keep it overnight after tying a cloth and wash hair with plain water the next morning. Do it twice a week for 3 months. It is an effective home dandruff treatment.
 
3. Massage the scalp regularly with olive oil. It will not only cure dandruff but will also prevent it from occurring.
 
4. Take one part of sandalwood oil with three parts of lemon juice and apply on scalp to get rid of dandruff.

. Apply gel of aloe vera leaves on scalp and leave it overnight. Wash it with a herbal, preferably shikakai shampoo the next morning.
 
6. Soak two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds overnight and make a fine paste from it. Apply this paste on scalp and leave it for half an hour. Wash hair thoroughly with soap-nut (ritha) solution or acacia concinna (shikakai)

 
7. Mix two tablespoons of green gram powder with half a cup of curd. Wash hair with it twice a week.

 
8. tops and roots of beet in water and massage the scalp with this water every night. Use your finger tips to gently massage hair scalp.

9. few drops of lime juice with Emblica Officinalis or Indian gooseberry (amla) juice and massage the scalp with it every night before going to bed.

 
10. Boil the peel and seeds of ash gourd in coconut oil. Massage the hair scalp with this oil to prevent dandruff and dryness of the scalp.

11. Massage scalp with a mixture made of equal quantities of lime juice and vinegar. Wash hair with egg shampoo after this.

12. Egg shampoo can be prepared by beating 2 or 3 eggs with a little water in it. Apply this mixture on the hair after wetting the hair and massage the scalp for sometime. Let this remain on the hair for sometime before washing it off with water. This treatment is very effective in preventing dandruff.

13. Tea tree oil is found to be an effective medicine against dandruff. Into some hot water, mix 1 teaspoon tea tree oil and massage your scalp with this. Wash your hair with lemon water followed by pure water. After washing, wrap a hot moist towel around your head for some time. The best time to do this is at night before going to bed.

14. Boil neem leaves in water and use this water to rinse hair.

• Avoid excessive intake of junk and oily food as well as tea, coffee, and other beverages.

 
• Avoid meat, sugar, and chocolates.

 
• Increase intake of juicy fruits but avoid citrus fruits as well as banana.

 
• Take balanced diet on a regular basis that should include vegetables, grams, cereals, fruits, etc. Drink lots of water during the day.

 
• Keep your hair and scalp clean. Try to use herbal shampoo and avoid using strong shampoo having artificial scents.

 
• Comb hair properly on a daily basis for maintaining proper blood circulation which is a pre condition for any type of dandruff treatment.

Once the oiling is done, wrap your hair with a warm towel and leave it for at least an hour. Now, remove the towel and apply the paste of fuller's earth on the head. Rinse it off after a while by shampooing with lukewarm water. Lastly, run little amount of refined oil in towel dried, damp hair. Let your hair dry naturally. This would make the curls appear a lot more shinier and prominent.
Split Ends in Curly Hair -Another common problem found in curly hair is split ends. Olive oil treatment is best for getting rid of it. What you have to do is, massage the hair and scalp well with olive oil and wrap the head with a towel dipped in hot water. Keep it as it is for around two hours and let your hair steam. Next,wash your hair using yogurt (buttermilk in case of oily hair). Rinse it off and shampoo your hair the next day. Repeating this treatment on a weekly basis for 3-4 weeks would render excellent results

3.TIPS TO GET STRAIGHTEN AND SHINY HAIR

1. Paste banana with milk apply all over the head rest it for 30 mins and wash.
2. Apply whisked curd all over the scalp and hair wait for 30mins and wash. 

 

Coconut milk
Coconut milk is known to maintain the sleekness of hair. A regular use of it can enhance the quality of your hair as well as render them soft and manageable. All you need to do is:
Take a one glass of coconut milk and add two table spoons of lemon juice (approx one lemon's juice) into it. Put this mixture in refrigerator for cooling.
Once the mixture has been cooled down in refrigerator, you would get a cream like mixture. Apply this creamy coconut paste on hair and cover it with a towel soaked in hot water.
Rinse it off after a while using shampoo. Repeat this treatment for about three weeks and you would witness your hair turning sleek silky and shiny.

Milk and Honey

 
Milk and honey provide rich nourishment to the scalp and hair. They work wonders for hair texture and their straightness.
Take one cup of milk and add one tablespoon of honey to it. Next, mash some strawberries into milk and honey and apply this paste on your hair.
Let this creamy paste stay in for about two hours and then rinse it off using shampoo. A healthy, sleek mane is what you'll get after it!

Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is the ultimate home remedy to add shine to the hair. Just fill in a spray bottle with vinegar and spray it generously on wet hair. Leave it for few minutes and then rinse it off. Repeat this tip for a couple of weeks after every wash and get shimmering results 

 4.Ayurvedic Herbs For Promoting Hair Growth

Bhringaraj

Bhringaraj Bhringaraja or Eclipta Alba is supposedly the best herb identified in ayurvedic science for the prevention of balding and premature graying. It is one of the best natural herbs for hair regrowth. The entire plant as well as the seeds of bhringaraj carry immense medicinal value. It is in fact, quite useful both internally as well as externally. Apart from that, there is a black dye which is extracted from Eclipta alba and is used for hair dyeing and tattooing purposes. Traditionally, bhringaraj for hair was used by boiling its leaf juice in sesame and coconut oil to anoint the head which resulted in healthy black hair. Today, bhringaraj is used as a basic ingredient in various herbal shampoos promoting hair growth. One can also try the popular concoction of amla, bhringraj and brahmi oil for hair regrowth.

Amalaki

Amalaki or Embelica Officinalis is a proven hair supplement for hair regrowth. The Embelica Officinalis fruit better known as amla, is first sun dried and then boiled in coconut oil upto the point where the solid fruit part gets charred. After cooling, this solution is used for massaging hair which helps promoting hair growth and preventing pre-mature graying. In fact, amalaki for hair is so curative that the amla fruit soaked water can be used as a conditioner for hair. Just rinse them with this water and you will surely get a beautiful shiny mane.

Triphala

Triphala refers to a combined mixture of three different herbs namely Haritaki also known as Terminalia Chebula, Amalaki also known as Embelica Officinalis and Vibhitaki also known as Terminalia Bellirica. This mixture called triphala if taken orally everyday, can effectively help in preventing hair loss. Also, it can be used by mixing it well in hot oil and then massaging scalp with it. Since triphala for hair is very effective, herbal shampoos and hair packs using triphala as a whole or either of the Terminalia Bellirica, Terminalia Chebula and Embelica Officinalis herb can be used for treating the issue of hair loss.

5.TIPS TO PREVENT HAIRLOSS AND BALDING

1•Oiling and massaging of scalp is very beneficial for stopping the hair loss. Use coconut oil or mustard oil at least three times in a week. Certain medicated oils like 'Mahabhringraj oil', 'Amala oil', and 'Arnica oil' are very useful. Put oil on the scalp, and massage gently in the roots of the hair.
 
Rub your scalp vigorously after washing the hair. It increases the blood circulation, and activates the sebaceous glands. Take the oil that contains vitamin E. Vitamin E prevents the hair fall and reduces the brittleness of hair and also cure the dry and flaky skin.

 
• Daily application of coconut oil mixed with lime juice on the hair is also beneficial. Applying juice of green coriander leaves on the head is also good.

 
• Washing the hair with a paste of cooked Urad dal (black beans) and fenugreek (methi) 2-3 times a week, is also good.

 
• A paste of licorice made by grinding it in milk can be applied in the bald patches. It induces hair growth. A paste of seeds of lemon and black pepper may also be applied on the bald patches.


• The diet should contain more green leafy vegetables, salads, milk, fruits and sprouts. Take more proteins, milk, buttermilk, yeast, wheat germ, soybean and vitamin A.

 
• Every morning eat white sesame seeds as these have plenty of magnesium and calcium that are essential for the growth of hair.
• Daily eat curd.
• A special Ayurvedic preparation made from Bhringraj (Eclipta elba), Amala, corals, iron and black sesame seeds is very useful, and even stops the graying of hair.
• A mixture of lettuce and spinach juice is good to drink to induce hair growth. The juice of alfalfa mixed with that of carrot, and lettuce juice is also good to take.
• Drink 1/3rd cup of aloe vera juice daily. You can also take 1 tbsp of aloe vera gel with a pinch of cumin. Take it thrice a day for 2-3 months to control hair loss.

Herbs for Ayurveda Hair Loss Treatment

• Take apple cider vinegar and sage tea to rinse your hair. This induces the growth of hair.
• If your hair are dry then consume burdock and marshmallow tea.
• Massage scalp regularly with horsetail.

6.TIPS TO
REMOVE SPLIT ENDS

1.Take a medium sized ripe papaya slice it well after skinning and deseeding it. Blend it in a blender to make a smooth paste. Now, mix this paste with one cup of fresh yogurt and apply this mixture lavishly on your scalp and hair. Make sure you apply it on every inch of your hair. Let it remain as it is for around 30 mins and rinse it off with shampoo. Repeat this procedure for 4 weeks and experience a shiny mane with reduced split ends.


2.Add one table spoon of honey to half cup of curd. Mix it well and apply it generously all over the hair ans scalp. Leave it for 20 mins and experience a smooth, shiny mane.

3.Avocado oil is very effective for split ends. Just massage the hair and scalp with it and cover the head with a hot towel. Leave it for 30 mins and then wash it nicely with a gentle shampoo.


4.Mix 1 tea spoon of honey with 5 tea spoons of olive oil into one egg's yolk. Beat the mixture well and massage it onto your scalp and hair. Next, wrap the mixture applied hair with a hot towel. Leave it like that for 20 mins. Rinse it off and shampoo it well after that.

5.Add one table spoon of fenugreek (methi) seeds in half cup of black lentil (daal). Dry grind them to get a coarse powder. Then add half cup of curd into it and mix them well. Apply this mixture generously all over the scalp and leave it for two hours. Finally wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
